Alarm Servicing

CCTV Installations and Repairs

Regular maintenance of your burglar alarm system can significantly enhance its reliability and longevity. Before calling for professional help, there are a few simple troubleshooting steps you can try to identify and potentially fix common issues. Start by checking the system’s power source; ensure that batteries are charged or replaced if necessary. Next, inspect the sensors and detectors for any visible obstructions or dirt that might interfere with their operation. Sometimes, a system reset can resolve minor glitches — consult your user manual for the reset procedure specific to your model. If you have a smart alarm system, make sure your network connection is stable and that the device firmware is up to date.
Proactive Maintenance Tips to Avoid Alarm System Failures
Performing routine checks every few months can prevent unexpected system failures. Keep your alarm panel clean and dust-free, and test all components including motion sensors, door/window contacts, and sirens. Replacing backup batteries annually is a good practice, especially for wired systems that rely on battery power during outages. Additionally, keep a log of any issues and repairs to help technicians diagnose recurring problems quickly. While these tips empower you to handle minor issues, professional servicing remains crucial for complex repairs and system upgrades, ensuring your home or business remains secure at all times.
